Poster number 3 from the Icons of Architecture series depicts the building of the High Mountain Observatory on Śnieżka - the highest peak of the Karkonosze Mountains, at an elevation of 1602 meters above sea level. Designed by Waldemar Wawrzyniak and Witold Lipiński, the building was completed in 1974. Thanks to its avant-garde form, it has become an undeniable icon of the Karkonosze and one of the most characteristic architectural landmarks ever created in Poland. The observatory's realization received recognition at the World Architecture Exhibition in Mexico in 1975, and in 2020, it was entered into the heritage register.
